Cheri Busch was asymptomatic. At 45, a routine colonoscopy — prompted by updated screening guidelines — revealed a 6cm mass. Within three weeks, her diagnosis was confirmed: stage IV colorectal adenocarcinoma.

Her story underscores a clinical truth worth repeating: colorectal cancer often develops silently. As CRC incidence rises in adults under 50, age-45 screening is no longer guidance to consider — it is a life-saving standard of care.
