Gerry Hanna, Consultant in Radiation Oncology at Trinity College Dublin, shared post on LinkedIn:
“A slightly late post from the Irish Research Radiation Oncology Group (IRROG) Annual meeting last Friday in Dublin but wanted to reflect on an excellent meeting.
What a privilege to have former Taoiseach Enda Kenny open the 2025 IRROG meeting. He spoke about his experience as a patient, the importance of radiotherapy and clinical trials in cancer treatment. Enda challenged us as an Irish RadOnc community to change the world and to continue to give patients hope.
The amazing Patricia Diez from RTTQA outlined the brilliant work on Radiotherapy quality assurance undertaken by this essential service to the annual. The impressive list of trials presented illustrated how essential RTTQA have been in delivering practice changing research in the UK. Great to have you with us in Dublin Patty and so looking forward to growing partnership between the UK and Ireland RadOnc.
Following an excellent session on public and patient involvement former American Society for Radiation Oncology (ASTRO) President Laura Dawson gave an outstanding overview of the transformation in treating liver with radiotherapy.
Congratulations to Sinead Brennan and Roisin O’Maolalai on a fantastic event.”
