Global Colon Cancer Association (GCCA), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“HER2-positive colorectal cancer is more than a biomarker result, it can help guide treatment decisions.
For some patients with metastatic colorectal cancer, HER2-positive tumors may respond to targeted therapies designed to block HER2 signaling.
Examples include:
- Tucatinib + trastuzumab (approved for HER2-positive metastatic CRC)
- Trastuzumab deruxtecan (T-DXd)
- Other HER2-targeted therapies being studied in clinical trials
Knowing a tumor’s HER2 status can help patients and healthcare teams explore additional treatment options and clinical trial opportunities.
On July 29, GCCA is hosting a free educational webinar, HER2 and Colorectal Cancer:
What Advocates Need to Know, featuring John Strickler, MD (Duke University) and patient advocate Elle Charnisky, moderated by GCCA President Nicole Sheahan.
Thank you to Pfizer for supporting this educational program”.
