Françoise Meunier: Panel Discussion on Living Well With and Beyond Cancer

Françoise Meunier, Vice President of the Royal Academy of Medicine of Belgium, and Founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“On 8 June, I was pleased to speak at the 11th Annual World Cancer Series Europe organised by The Economist in Brussels during the panel discussion ‘Living Well With and Beyond Cancer.’

Alongside Katie Rizvi (Youth Cancer Europe) and Richard Stephens (CRAF-UK), we discussed what it truly means to live well beyond cancer, and why survivors alone cannot be the finish line.

I reiterated the need for a Right To Be Forgotten for cancer survivors, not simply as a financial protection but as a matter of justice, equality and human rights. Surviving cancer is not something anyone should be penalised for.

Thank you to Economist Impact for organising this important discussion and to my fellow panellists for their valuable insights.”
