“Ever wonder why a therapeutic riding lesson might have a rider facing backwards on the horse?
Facing backwards removes the ability to anticipate the horse’s next movement, which challenges balance and encourages automatic postural responses. During my visit to The Shea Center for Therapeutic Riding, I got to try it myself!
