Felicia Knaul: A Woman Dies Every Hour in Mexico From BC and Nearly 85% of Cases Are Diagnosed Late

Felicia Knaul, Associate of the Chancellor at UCLA, Professor, Department of Public Policy at UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs, shared on X:

“A woman dies every hour in Mexico from breast cancer and nearly 85% of cases are diagnosed late. Behind these numbers are lives, families, and a reality that we can change.

It’s not enough to ask women to get checked: we need access, timely diagnosis, infrastructure, and quality care for all.

In Congress Mi Lucha Es Rosa 2026 we unite science, experience, and collaboration to transform evidence into action and close the gaps that still cost lives.

Thanks La Jornada for raising awareness of this challenge!”
