Farah Tarek Shaalan: Critical and Rare Presentation of Metastatic Breast Cancer

Farah Tarek Shaalan, Oncology Resident at Baheya Charity Women’s Cancer Hospital and at the National Cancer Institute – Cairo University, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper she co-authored with Israa Ahmed Qutob published in Medical Reports:

“Super excited to announce the publication of my 2nd case report, highlighting a critical and rare presentation of metastatic breast cancer!

Our report details a 59 yr old female with breast cancer that atypically metastasized to both the urinary bladder and the gallbladder. This case underscores the importance of thorough metastatic evaluation when ILC presents with unusual symptoms like hematuria and GI pain.

A huge thank you (that is probably not enough) to my mentor and dear friend, Dr. Eman Sobhe, for her guidance, and to the Baheya Institute, my cozy nest from which I was able to fly….and will continue doing so inshallah.”
