Faizan Bashir, Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences, shared a post on LinkedIn about a paper he co-authored with colleagues published in Current Oncology:
“In our recent review, we explored a compelling yet underexplored question: Could MetS predispose individuals to laryngeal cancer?
Across multiple large cohorts, particularly from Korea, MetS was consistently linked to higher laryngeal cancer risk even after adjusting for smoking and alcohol use. Hypertension and hyperglycemia stood out as the most influential components, and a cumulative effect was evident with increasing metabolic burden.
Amazing teamwork.”
