Evan Lipson, Oncologist, Melanoma/ Skin Cancer Specialist at Johns Hopkins, shared on LinkedIn:
”Years ago, a man I was treating for cancer said something I couldn’t stop thinking about. He told me that his diagnosis had given him the chance to have conversations he might never have had. To accept help. To experience relationships differently.
I didn’t have a recorder with me that day, so I wrote down his words. I didn’t know why I was doing it. I just knew what he was sharing with me felt important. And that more people would want to hear it.
Since then, I’ve had the privilege of recording dozens of people talking not simply about cancer, but about how they are choosing to live – the trips they take, things they build, relationships they deepen and passions they pursue.
Those conversations eventually led me to found a nonprofit. We call it Seize the Days. As an oncologist, I spend a lot of time thinking about how to give people more time. Seize the Days has taught me to think just as deeply about how we help people make that time meaningful.
Help us grow the movement. Learn more at seizethedays.org.”
