First European Cancer Literacy Day

First European Cancer Literacy Day

Today is the first European Cancer Literacy Day!

But what does cancer literacy actually mean?

It is not only about having access to cancer information, but being able to find it, understand it, evaluate it and use it to make informed decisions.

And this is so important! Because not everyone has the same access to information, and cancer information is not always easy to understand.

Something I believe is that people with lived cancer experience should also be involved in creating cancer information, not only receiving it.

We know what questions we had, what information was confusing and what we wish someone had explained better.

At the OncoDaily Lived Experience Advocacy Hub, we believe lived experience is expertise, and this expertise can help make cancer education more accessible and useful for everyone.

Congratulations to the CURTAIN Project and all the partners supporting this important initiative!
