New findings from the UPGRADE-RT trial, presented at ESTRO 2026, suggest that specific regions of the pharyngeal mucosa may play a key role in feeding tube dependency during radiotherapy for head and neck cancer.

The study highlights how dose surface mapping may help identify new opportunities to reduce treatment-related side effects and improve patients’ quality of life.”
