European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A new chapter begins for EPHA.
Yesterday, more than 60% of our members came together for EPHA General Assembly – not only to elect a new Board, approve the 2025 accounts, and look ahead to 2026, but to reaffirm our shared commitment to public health in Europe.
What stood out was not the formal business of the day. It was the atmosphere. The discussions were constructive. The engagement was high. The spirit was positive, forward-looking and ambitious. After a challenging period for EPHA and for many health civil society organizations across Europe, it was encouraging to see our membership so present and so ready to help shape the future.
The General Assembly elected a new Board for the 2026-2028 mandate, and we are delighted to introduce:
- Ms Elisabeth Dupont (International Diabetes Federation Europe) – President
- Dr Wolfgang Fecke (Association of European Cancer Leagues) – Vice-President
- Mr George Sultana (Malta Health Network) – Treasurer
- Dr Paolo Lauriola (ISDE(International Society of Doctors for Environment) Italy) – Board member
- Professor Marija Jevtic, MD PhD (The Society of Physicians of Vojvodina of The Serbian Medical Society) – Board member
Together, they bring a wealth of experience, leadership and expertise, while reflecting the diversity, inclusiveness and geographical reach of EPHA community.
As we welcome the new Board, we would also like to thank the outgoing Board for its commitment, wisdom and steady leadership throughout the past mandate. A special thank you goes to Dr Tadeusz Jędrzejczyk, whose contribution has been truly invaluable.
Most importantly, the new Board will guide EPHA through our new 2026-2030 Strategy, strengthening our work on the determinants of health, Planetary and One Health, and democracy, civic space and evidence-based health governance.
The challenges facing public health remain significant. But yesterday’s General Assembly left us with a strong sense of confidence.
EPHA has a committed membership, a strong new Board, a clear strategy, and a shared determination to keep building a healthier, fairer Europe.
Thank you to all members who joined, contributed and helped make a day such a success.”
To which Association of European Cancer Leagues added:
“Proud to announce our Executive Director Wolfgang Fecke was elected as Vice-President of the European Public Health Alliance (EPHA) last week.”
