“Cervical cancer is a global concern-and no single stakeholder can address it alone.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the Elekta Foundation, particularly CEO and President Lacy, for their continued commitment and partnership; to the GCRF, with special appreciation to Gail Endrew and Gail Goldstein and the entire team; and to our colleagues and experts from Kenya and around the world, including Dr. Victoria, Dr Anisa Mburu, RSOG leadership and members, and all contributors who generously shared their knowledge, skills, and time. We also express our deep appreciation to the RBC/MOH leadership,, and the entire health system for their ongoing leadership and support. Special recognition is due to local team facilitators my self, Euloge, Ildephonse, Mathilde,Raissa Albertine and others for initiating and coordinating this important activity.
This collaboration exemplifies what strong partnerships should look like: North–South and South–South cooperation, bringing together knowledge, experience, equipment, and people around a shared goal-the elimination of cervical cancer. Knowledge alone, without the necessary materials and equipment, is insufficient; equally, materials and equipment without knowledge are not enough. Both are essential.
We therefore organized this LEEP Camp at Rwamagana Hospital not only to provide treatment for women, but also to train healthcare professionals, strengthen local capacity, and share expertise for sustainable cervical cancer care. In just three days, more than 100 women have been evaluated and over 60 LEEP procedures performed, while more than 15 trainees at various levels have gained hands-on experience-and we still have two more days remaining.
We extend special thanks to the entire Rwamagana Hospital team for their dedication and hospitality. This initiative represents more than a camp; it is a model of how partnership, mentorship, technology, equipment, and local ownership can accelerate progress toward cervical cancer elimination.
Together, we can achieve more. Together, we can eliminate cervical cancer.”
