“Lung Cancer / Thoracic Maligancies Session at the 3rd Best of ASTRO Gulf 2026 highlighted cutting – edge advances shaping contemporary management of thoracic malignancies.
Moderated by Dr. Eter Natelauri and Dr. Faiz Alshafa, the session featured expert perspectives from Dr. Ahmad Bushehri, Prof. Ugur Selek, and Dr. Bassem Youssef, highlighting collaborative, evidence – based approaches in contemporary lung cancer care.
Discussions focused on patient – reported outcomes from chemoradiation with or without immunotherapy in limited – stage small cell lung cancer, ten – year outcomes from the revised STARS trial comparing radiation and surgery in early – stage non – small cell lung cancer, and optimized thoracic radiotherapy strategies combined with systemic therapy for elderly or frail patients with stage III disease.
