Emir Cerme: ASCO 2026 Results of Lorlatinib in ALK+ NSCLC

Emir Cerme, Medical Oncology Fellow at Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine, Member of the Royal College of Physicians (UK) at Royal College of Physicians, shared Gilberto Lopes’s, Chief of the Division of Medical Oncology at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, post on X, adding:

“Very intriguing study.

Maybe it’s too early to say but given the MPR and CR rates seen with lorlatinib, could surgery become an option for selected cases with oligometastatic disease in the future?”

Quoting Gilberto Lopes’s post:

“Pleasant Surprise from ASCO26 Abstract 8002 (LORIN): neoadjuvant lorlatinib in stage III ALK+ NSCLC hits a pCR of 46.9% and MPR of 81.3% – pathologic responses we rarely see with neoadjuvant TKIs. 75% of initially unresectable pts converted to surgery. Targeted neoadj earning its seat.”
