“A significant milestone for people with a history of cancer in Greece.
With the adoption of Law 5317/2026, Greece has established a legislative framework for the Right to be Forgotten, strengthening protection against discrimination for cancer survivors in relation to insurance contracts linked to consumer credit.
This achievement reflects a wider European movement to address financial discrimination against people with a history of cancer. The Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors (EDACS) initiative, supported by European stakeholders and advocates including Dr. Françoise Meunier, together with the work of the European Cancer Organisation have highlighted the importance of turning European commitments into meaningful national action.
