Elekta Foundation shared on LinkedIn:
“Radiotherapy is only as strong as the team behind it.
In radiation oncology, high-quality cancer treatment does not depend on one person alone. It depends on the full care team radiation oncologists, medical physicists, radiation therapists and nurses, all working together with the right knowledge, skills and confidence.
Today, many radiotherapy professionals in low-resource settings face significant challenges. Heavy workloads, limited access to structured training, and too few opportunities for continued medical education can make it difficult to deliver the safest and most effective care.
That is why training matters.
When radiotherapy teams have access to high-quality education and continued learning, patients benefit through safer treatments, better outcomes and reduced side effects. At its core, this is about equity: ensuring that every patient, regardless of where they live, has access to safe, high-quality and equal cancer care.”
