“Entering another operating room can feel like entering someone else’s home
But during my visit at Candiolo Cancer Institute IRCCS, with the team led by Dr. Antonio Toesca, I never felt like a guest. From the first moment, I felt part of the family.
It was a privilege to meet the people behind this work: a remarkably hardworking team leading innovation in endoscopic and robotic breast surgery while also delivering high-quality oncoplastic breast surgery.
Beyond the techniques, this is a place where humanity, teaching, mentorship, and friendship are part of the daily routine.
My deepest thanks to Dr. Antonio Toesca the entire team (Dr. Giada Pozzi, Dr. Luca Resca, Dr. Davide Buonanno) for sharing so openly. Special thanks and a huge shoutout to my dearest friend Giada Pozzi for making this visit possible and so meaningful.
Whether or not minimally invasive breast surgery is currently feasible in your practice, I strongly recommend visiting this team, meeting the people, and seeing their work firsthand.
And honestly, if Jannik Sinner keeps coming back to Candiolo Cancer Institute IRCCS year after year, there must be something special about this place.
Extremely grateful for the learning, and even more for the friendship.
Where to next?”
