“Today is Metastatic Breast Cancer Awareness Day.
Advances in treatment are helping many people with advanced breast cancer live longer.
But living longer must also mean living better.
Significant challenges remain, from unequal access to innovative treatments and personalised care to gaps in psychosocial support, financial security and employment rights.
Dr Fatima Cardoso, President of the ABC Global Alliance, says that addressing metastatic breast cancer means looking beyond survival and recognising the diverse needs of those living with the disease.
