Leaders in Bucharest for Our Second Regional Event on the Elimination of HPV-related Cancers – ECO

European Cancer Organisation (ECO) shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Yesterday, Bucharest brought together leaders, advocates, and partners from across Southeast Europe for our second regional event on the elimination of HPV-related cancers, and the energy in the room was undeniable.

A huge thank you to Federatia Romana de Fotbal for hosting us and to European Society of Gynaecological Oncology for organising it together with us, and to every speaker, partner, and participant.

What stood out most was the commitment and momentum across every country in the room, with particular progress to highlight from Romania, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Greece. There is real progress on HPV prevention, and real work still ahead, but what yesterday made clear is that when countries come together around a shared goal, that exchange of knowledge, experience, and political will is where change begins.

From policy to practice, from data to decision-making, from national plans to regional solidarity, the meeting reinforced one message: we have the tools to eliminate these cancers. Now we must use them.

The work ahead starts now.
