European Alliance for Personalised Medicine (EAPM) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Precision oncology in action: bridging research and policy at IQN Path, Naples.
We are pleased to share that Denis Horgan, Ph.D, Executive Director of EAPM, will be speaking at the IQN Path meeting in Naples (8–9 May 2026).
After a great experience last year, we are very happy to be back, continuing the conversation on how to advance innovation in cancer care.
On Day 1, Denis Horgan will contribute to the discussion with a presentation on: “A Global Perspective on Implementation and Policy Development for Precision Oncology”, a topic that lies at the core of EAPM’s work.
This intervention builds on over a decade of work by EAPM in the field of precision oncology, as well as a wide range of publications developed over the years. Among the most recent contributions is the paper published in JCO Global Oncology (American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO): “Precision Oncology: A Global Perspective on Implementation and Policy Development”, co-authored with experts including John Longshore, Vivek Subbiah, Umberto Malapelle, Marc Van den Bulcke, Dr. Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed, Surbhi Grover and Rodrigo Dienstmann.
The publication highlights a key challenge: while precision oncology holds enormous potential, its full implementation remains uneven due to scientific, regulatory, economic, and policy barriers. Bridging these gaps and ensuring more equitable access requires coordinated action across stakeholders, systems, and countries.
Events like IQN Path ASBL are essential to move from discussion to implementation, connecting global perspectives with real-world practice. We thank Nicola Normanno and the IQN Path team for the invitation, and we look forward to this insightful opportunity!
