“Prolonged zinc supplementation for dysgeusia caused copper deficiency in a 70-something with multiple myeloma. Hypocupremia causes fatigue, anemia, and neuropathy. Symptoms improved with IV copper. Clinicians should watch for copper deficiency in long-term zinc use.”
