Dégi László Csaba: People-Centered Cancer Care Poster Presented at IARC60

Dégi László Csaba, the President of the European Cancer Organisation and a member of the Board of Directors for the Organisation of European Cancer Institutes (OECI), shared a post by OncoDaily on LinkedIn, adding:

”A proud moment for our team and for people-centered cancer care globally.

Our poster on People-Centered Care in National Cancer Control Plans:

A Global Policy Integration was selected and presented at the IARC@60 International Conference | 19–21 May 2026, Lyon, France | marking the 60th anniversary of the IARC – International Agency for Research on Cancer / World Health Organization. Being part of this landmark gathering, alongside the world’s leading voices in cancer research and policy, means more than words can easily capture – a recognition that humbles and motivates us in equal measure.

Our work – spanning 156 national cancer control plans across the globe – would not exist without the true dedication and intellectual generosity of my dear co-authors: Carolyn Taylor, Dr. Hadi Mohamad Abu Rasheed, PhuongThao “PT” Lê, and Anna Cabanes.

Collaboration like this is what moves science forward.

The evidence is clear: people-centered care is widely endorsed – but rarely operationalized. Closing that gap is the work ahead of us. Together.

A very special thanks to the brilliant Carolyn Taylor and the incredible Mela Dewi, who presented our work with such clarity and passion – including to H.E. Budi Sadikin, Minister of Health of Indonesia, who kindly visited our poster. That moment reminded us why this research matters: it reaches decision-makers who can turn evidence into policy, and policy into lives improved.

And we are also deeply honored that OncoDaily selected our work among their 20 Posts Not To Miss From IARC60.”
