Dégi László Csaba, Full Professor at UBB, ECO President, IPOS Secretary, Ombudsman, APSCO President, and FSAS Ph.D. Director, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“As the European Cancer Organisation Summit 2025 comes to a close, I am filled with gratitude, pride, and deep emotion. Today’s closing session was not only a moment to reflect on the past two years of my presidency, but also a celebration of what we, as a united community, have achieved — and a look toward the future we are shaping together.
These past two years have truly been the journey of a lifetime. Working together with all of you, professionals, advocates, researchers, patients, organisations, and partners, has shown me the strength, resilience, and hope that define the European cancer community. Every initiative, every collaboration, every barrier we broke together brings us one step closer to a better, fairer, and more patient-relevant future for all.
Sharing the stage with this year’s wonderful Co-Chairs, Kathy Oliver, Co-Director of the International Brain Tumour Alliance (IBTA), and Nicolò Matteo Luca Battisti, Consultant Medical Oncologist at The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust, was both an honour and a privilege. Their leadership and dedication continue to inspire our collective mission.
I was equally delighted to share this moment with Isabel T. Rubio, ECO’s president-elect and Director of Breast Surgical Oncology at Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Knowing that the organisation is moving forward under her leadership gives me enormous confidence in the road ahead.
Thank you for trusting me, challenging me, and walking this path with me. I am profoundly grateful for this community and all that we have built together. The mission continues.”
