‘Europe has taken important steps in cancer policy, but real success will be measured by how well people live with and beyond cancer,’ said Csaba Dégi, President of the European Cancer Organisation (ECO), quoted by Politico.
ECO’s new policy paper calls on the EU to place survivorship and quality of life at the heart of all cancer strategies. With over 20 million cancer survivors in Europe, long-term, well-funded action is urgently needed — including ensuring that every national cancer plan includes strong measures to support survivors.
