“Today at the World Health Summit 2025, I’m honored to speak alongside global leaders advancing Cancer Control in the NCD Era. With 35M+ new cancer cases projected by 2050, action is urgent! 80% of countries have National Cancer Control Plans – but only 10% are backed with proper budgets.
Proud to stand alongside visionary health leaders:
Dr. Cary Adams (CEO, Union for International Cancer Control, Switzerland)
Nicola Richards (Chief Oncology Medical Officer, Pfizer, USA)
Prof. Dorothy Keefe (CEO, Cancer Australia)
Dr. Bente Mikkelsen (WHO, Unit Head, NCDs and Mental Health, Geneva)
Phoebe Ongadi (Executive Director, Kenyan Network of Cancer Organizations)
In my speech, I urged our global health community not to let our ambitions for cancer control stall at the planning phase. We must match words with action: every National Cancer Control Plan needs SMART objectives, dedicated financing, robust accountability, and true patient-centred care. I am deeply proud of the impact ECO is making – uniting all stakeholders, demanding sustainability for Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan, and striving for equity in survivorship. Together, we deliver more than hope – we deliver change!
Watch the full session recording and join our movement.”
