Debra Patt: Thrilled by the Energy Around AI at ASCO 2026 Annual Meeting This Year

Debra Patt, President of the Community Oncology Alliance, Executive Vice President Policy and Strategy at Texas Oncology, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Thrilled by the energy around AI at ASCO Annual Meeting this year.

Together with OncoDaily and ZS we presented a Grand Rounds on AI in oncology, heard multiple oral presentations showing how patients and clinicians are already using AI, and watched the ASCO team showcase new functionality on the ASCO website through collaboration with Google Cloud and Gemini – including early work on agents to access clinical tools.

The momentum is clear: the time is now to accelerate responsible, patient-centered adoption of AI across the cancer care ecosystem. That means rigorous validation, equity-focused deployment, transparent governance, and strong administrative-clinician-patient collaboration.

This is a huge focus for Community Oncology Alliance and was the focus of our meeting this year – demonstrating agentic solutions interacting with patient care.

How will you help drive this change? Share one action your team or organization is taking (or plans to take) to ensure AI improves outcomes and access in oncology.”
