“To build a shared understanding of the end-to-end pathway of how medicines and vaccines move from discovery to delivery at the point of care, IFPMA has published the ‘Innovation Development and Access Pathway’ (IDAP) framework.
We map four critical pillars across the access pathway:
- R&D and the innovation ecosystem
- Regulatory processes and life cycle management
- Listing, procurement, and reimbursement
- Health service delivery
This is an important step in our collective effort to turn innovation into impact for patients. It is a tool to identify systemic bottlenecks and to connect them to actionable policy solutions.
We look forward to working with partners to inform and implement these policies and to turn this framework into real-world impact for patients everywhere.
