David J. Skorton, President and CEO of the Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC), shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Physician standards are as comprehensive, demanding, and strong as ever. Becoming a physician requires more than a decade of rigorous training and frequent assessment, completing medical school and residency training, and passing exceptionally rigorous licensing exams.
No one, regardless of race or background, can practice medicine in the U.S. without demonstrating the competence to do so and to imply otherwise discredits our nation’s doctors and the highly qualified educators who have trained them. My commentary in The Wall Street Journal.”
