“We did it!
SS1 for SB120 requiring insurance companies to cover biomarker testing has passed the Delaware General Assembly and is heading to Governor Matthew Meyer’s desk for his signature!
Biomarker testing is a critical component of modern cancer care as it helps identify the unique characteristics of an individual’s cancer so that oncologists can match patients with the most effective, personalized treatments for them as each person’s cancer has a unique pattern of biomarkers. This targeted approach improves outcomes, reduces unnecessary side effects, and avoids ineffective therapies.
This is an exciting milestone for individuals living with cancer in Delaware and a powerful reminder of what can be accomplished when patients, healthcare professionals, advocates, organizations, and policymakers work together!
Congratulations and thank you to the advocates that shared their stories, provided testimony, the organizations that submitted letters of support, and the elected officials who championed this important legislation!”
