Daniel Stover Congratulates Mark Vater on PhD Defense in Digital Pathology

Daniel Stover, Associate Professor of Medicine and the Director of Translational Breast Cancer Research at the Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:

“Today was a big day in the Stover Lab – Mark Vater defended his thesis and is now minted as ‘Dr. Vater’!

Mark led the charge as we made a leap about 4 years ago to transition a big chunk of our resources and effort to pivot into digital pathology. His first paper was published last month in Nature npj Breast Cancer, a grant he was central to conceiving and developing was funded, he ‘landed the plane’ on his most ambitious project (paper to come), and now he has finished grad school!

Congratulations, Mark – you deserve all the accolades you have received!”
