“In the newly released ShanghaiRanking’s 2026 Global Ranking of Academic Subjects (GRAS), CUHK Medicine’s Clinical Medicine achieved a new milestone, climbing four spots to rank 11th globally. It clinched the top spot in Asia for the fourth consecutive year and is the only Asian medical school ranked among the global top 50.
Meanwhile, The Nethersole School of Nursing, CUHK ranks second in Asia and has entered the global top five. Both disciplines have made significant advances, underscoring CU Medicine’s growing international impact in healthcare research and clinical education.
Professor Philip Chiu, Dean of CU Medicine, stated: ‘In the face of rapid technological advances and evolving healthcare challenges, CU Medicine—as one of the world’s top 1% medical schools—remains steadfast in addressing global health issues. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded healthcare leaders who combine forward-thinking vision with humanistic care, while actively driving translational research and the clinical application of cutting-edge technologies.
Reaching another historic high in global rankings is a testament to the dedication of our entire community. On behalf of the Faculty, I extend my deepest gratitude to our staff, researchers, clinical teams, students, and alumni.
