Brian Wolpin Highlights the Lasting Impact of Early-Career Research Support – Conquer Cancer

Conquer Cancer, the ASCO Foundation shared on LinkedIn:

“Why should we fund early-career oncology investigators?

Past Conquer Cancer grant recipient Dr. Brian Wolpin shares why he began researching pancreatic cancer and how early support enables scientists like himself to prove their hypotheses and bridge the gap from laboratory science to clinical practice.

At the ASCO26 Annual Meeting, Dr. Wolpin shared results from a study that nearly doubled the average survival time for patients previously treated for metastatic pancreatic cancer compared to standard chemotherapy, while also stopping the cancer from growing for twice as long.

Dr. Wolpin’s journey as a researcher began in 2009 with a Conquer Cancer grant. Today, he continues to lead the way in finding new options to help people live longer, healthier lives.”
