“Dr. Chi Viet planned to be a dentist, but as she progressed through her training, she encountered patients with oral cancers who suffered poor outcomes. Those encounters changed the trajectory of her career, eventually leading her to a fellowship in head and neck surgical oncology and microvascular reconstruction and a PhD focused on oral cancer research.
Conquer Cancer funding helped Dr. Viet focus her research and practice on improving outcomes for patients with oral, head, and neck cancers and developing new strategies to help patients more effectively manage pain during and after cancer care.
