City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) shared a post on Linkedin:
“Abuja reached a major milestone in its journey From The Ground Up with the City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) initiative. The C/Can Abuja City Executive Committee led by the chair Adedolapo Fasawe, formally endorsed nine priority projects spanning the cancer care continuum for implementation over the next two years.
This moment marks the conclusion of the Strategic Planning and Programme Definition phase, a critical stage where:
- A city-wide needs assessment was translated into clear priorities
- Stakeholders from across the health system co-created a data-driven City Strategic Plan
- A City Programme of projects was defined, aligned with national strategies and grounded in local realities
This signals a shift from identifying gaps to intentionally redesigning the cancer care system in a way that is locally led, coordinated, and sustainable.
Now, project planning begins, where we will turn, together, plans into actionable projects.
This progress is being driven by Abuja’s institutions and leaders, working together around a shared, evidence-based plan. We thank the City Executive Committee and all participating stakeholders for their leadership, collaboration, and continued commitment to strengthening cancer care in the city.”
