City Cancer Challenge Highlights Locally-Driven Breast Cancer Action Plans
City Cancer Challenge (C/Can) shared a post on LinkedIn:
“The World Health Organization–C/Can partnership on the Global Breast Cancer Initiative (GBCI) is bridging global standards with locally-driven action in cities like Tbilisi, Kumasi, Cali and Phnom Penh.
Instead of siloed programmes, this approach builds sustainable health systems — empowering cities to create Breast Cancer Action Plans that guide early detection, timely diagnosis and comprehensive treatment. These locally-owned blueprints are already influencing national cancer strategies in countries such as Colombia, Georgia and Ghana.
The next phase will scale this momentum: new training, policy integration, and city-to-country pathways designed to ensure more women, wherever they live, have access to quality breast cancer care.
Discover how this collaboration is setting a precedent for global health.
Thanks to the convening role of the IFPMA and to Amgen, AstraZeneca, Bristol Myers Squibb and MSD who provided essential funding through which C/Can can operate the GBCI partnership.”
