Christopher Jackson: Defending Champion Title in the Oncologists’ Fitness Challenge

Christopher Jackson, Co-lead of the Cancer National Clinical Network at Health New Zealand, Te Whatu Ora, and Professor of Oncology at the University of Otago, shared a post on Facebook:

“Time to suit up.
Even though I am starting from a nearly impossible deficit, having to win the remaining two events eclipsing others scores in three, I will not take a backwards step.

No, I will take a forward lunge. A weighted overhead lunge followed by dumbbell snatches and pull-ups. But also, a metaphorical lunge.

Donning my 2023 bespoke winners t-shirt will give me added focus and strength, of the emotionally enhanced rather than pharmaceutically assisted type.
The other middle aged scaled oncologists will have to pull this shirt off my back if they want my title. They will also probably have to fly a long way, and airfares are expensive just now with all that’s going on in the world.

But I will never doubt the resolve of my competitors to rest this title (and very snazzy t-shirt) from me. Onwards! The challenge awaits.”
