Christine M. Lovly: Strong Patient and Advocate Presence at TexasLung26

Christine M. Lovly, Member Board of Directors at the American Association for Cancer Research and Division Chief of Thoracic Medical Oncology at City of Hope, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Shout out to amazing lung cancer patients, advocates, and advocacy organizations who are partners in progress and important members of the lung cancer community.

I remember many years ago, there was not such a strong patient/advocate presence at meetings. Now, their important presence is felt and celebrated. This is a sign of progress.

Heidi Nafman Onda gave a moving speech, as always, at the TexasLung26 meeting this weekend. Her and Pierre Onda’s inspirational work with The White Ribbon Project has resonated around the world.

Same for Janet Freeman-Daily and the The ROS1ders. Great to see so many patient/advocate groups represented at TexasLung26! (And they don’t need AI photo recon to be superheroes!)”
