Cheng Ean Chee, Adjunct Associate Professor at NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Today, we came together to mark World Cancer Day (4 Feb 2026) at Kampung Admiralty, alongside community partners, colleagues from all three healthcare clusters, volunteers, and members of the public. The event was graced by Singapore’s President and we were glad to also have our MPs and MOH DGH with us.
A meaningful milestone today: Singapore Cancer Society, 365 Cancer Prevention Society, Breast Cancer Foundation and Ain Society came together to launch the Cancer Care Coalition – bringing efforts together, aligning purpose, and strengthening support for patients and families across the cancer journey.
TeamNCIS team ran a booth teaching breast self-examination – simple, practical, and empowering – and I also joined a panel discussion on Singapore’s fight against cancer.
What stood out in today’s conversations:
- Cancer matters because it touches almost every family
- Partnerships matter because no one organisation can do this alone
- Truly person-centred cancer care must extend beyond hospitals into communities and everyday life
Grateful for the shared commitment, energy, and heart today. This is what fighting cancer together really looks like.”
