“Honored to receive the SLACOM 20 Year Award, which celebrates the founding of the Latin American and Caribbean Society of Medical Oncology two decades ago. As the ASCO CEO at the time, I had the privilege of being present in the Board Room of the National Cancer Institute of Peru alongside Carlos Villejos, Eduardo Cazap, and other leaders from Latin America.
This award recognizes global leadership in oncology, as well as outstanding leadership, continuous collaboration, commitment, and guidance to Latin American Oncology. During the event, I delivered a brief address highlighting ISOPT and the promotion of cancer prevention on a global scale.
