“Planning is underway for the ISOPT joint meeting scheduled for June 12-14 in Shenzhen and Hong Kong, with advice from Prof. Rui-Hua Xu, ISOPT Scientific Director (Asia), and Professor Ning Liao, ISOPT Public Information Director.
We recently convened at the renowned Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center (SYSUCC) in Guangzhou, where Professor Xu serves as President. He is a leading figure in colorectal cancer research, an Academician of the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Editor-in-Chief of the prestigious Cancer Communications journal (impact factor of 25), and holds top leadership positions in both the Chinese Anti-Cancer Association and the Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology.
SYSUCC is one of China’s largest integrated cancer centers, focusing on cancer care, education, research, and prevention. It has 2,247 beds, 54 surgery rooms, and recorded over 2.34 million outpatient visits in 2025. In the Nature Index ranking for 2025, SYSUCC achieved 5th place globally among cancer centers. Prof. Liao is the Chief of the Breast Oncology Program at the nearby Guangdong Provincial Medical Center, where she leads one of the largest breast cancer clinical research programs in China.”
