Charbel Matar: Grand Rounds at The George Washington University on Thalassemia

Charbel Matar, Chief Fellow, Hematology-Oncology, George Washington University, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It was a privilege to attend the Grand Rounds at The George Washington University presented by prof. Ali Taher, MD, PhD, FRCP , a global leader in Thalassemia research and care.

As a fellow Lebanese physician and alumnus of the American University of Beirut, I am proud to see Lebanon represented on the international stage through impactful work that has transformed the management of transfusion-dependent TDT and non-transfusion-dependent thalassemia NTDT.

The discussion was also a reminder that Global Oncology is built on collaboration. The world is smaller than we think, and advancing cancer and hematology care requires partnerships that transcend institutions, countries, and continents.

Thank you, Dr. Taher, for an inspiring presentation and for your contributions to patients worldwide. And thank you to GWU for helping bridge the gap between regions, institutions, and experts, fostering the exchange of knowledge that ultimately benefits patients everywhere.”
