Catherine Alix-Panabières, Director of the Laboratory of Rare Human Circulating Cells and Professor of Universities – Hospital Practitioner at Montpellier University Hospital, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Deeply honoured and proud to join the College of the prestigious European Academy of Cancer Sciences (EACS).
The European Academy of Cancer Sciences or EACS is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation bringing together leading oncologists and cancer researchers, with the shared mission of reducing the incidence of cancer and alleviating the burden of cancer-related suffering across Europe.
I would like to warmly thank the President, Michael Baumann, the past President, Anton Berns, the secretary-general: Klas Kärre, as well as the members of the Governing Board: Jean-Yves Blay, Fátima Carneiro, Alexander Markham, Péter Nagy, and Dr Elisabete Weiderpass.
Joining such an iconic European Institution is both a great honour and a responsibility that I embrace with humility, in continuity with my longstanding commitment to advancing health. I am particularly inspired by EACS’s mission to stimulate the growth of knowledge and innovation within the European cancer research ecosystem, and to promote translational cancer research as a model for European translational medicine.
This appointment holds special meaning for me because of the exceptional scientific excellence and human qualities of the colleagues with whom I now have the privilege to serve.
Learn more about the EACS.
Wishing everyone a wonderful, successful, and inspiring year 2026!”
