Cataldo Doria, Medical Director of Capital Health System Cancer Center, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Leadership isn’t about certainty.
It’s about responsibility in moments of uncertainty.
Over the years, I’ve learned that the most consequential decisions are rarely made when all the data are available, the path is clear, or the outcome is guaranteed. They’re made when people are watching, teams are depending on you, and the margin for error feels uncomfortably thin.
In healthcare—and especially in oncology—progress doesn’t come from avoiding complexity. It comes from leaning into it: asking better questions, building trust across disciplines, and staying grounded in purpose when the pressure is highest.
The privilege of leadership is not authority.
It’s stewardship.
Grateful to work alongside colleagues who show up every day with rigor, humility, and an unwavering commitment to patients.”
