“From Class to Fellowship: A Journey We Shared
From receiving my admission letter into the Academy of the Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria (ONS- Nigeria) to being inducted as a Fellow, this has been a journey of growth, learning, sacrifice and service.
It was not always easy.
There were demanding academic tasks, work and family responsibilities, advocacy commitments, projects, and days when some of us genuinely felt like giving up. Yet, we kept going.
As Class Representative of the 2026 Cohort, one of my greatest responsibilities was ensuring that no class member was left behind.
That came with its own sacrifices, but it also reminded me that leadership is not about moving ahead alone; it is about helping others move forward with you.
Today, we stand as Fellows, not just because we completed a programme, but because we learned, supported one another and persevered together.
For me, this fellowship is not another badge. It is a call to greater responsibility. A call to keep learning, contribute meaningfully, mentor others and use what we know to strengthen oncology nursing and cancer care.
To the faculty, mentors, friends and colleagues, thank you for being part of this journey.
And to the Oncology Nursing Society of Nigeria (ONS- Nigeria), thank you for creating a platform that continues to invest in the growth, leadership and professional development of oncology nurses.
