Lacy Hubbard, President and CEO of Elekta Foundation, recognized among the 100 Most Influential CEOs in Oncology in 2025, shared on LinkedIn:
“Going back to Rwanda is always exciting. There is always something happening that reminds me why I love working here.
This morning, I joined the Cancer Walk in Kigali, organized by Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC) and Rotary Virunga.
What I love about this walk is that it doesn’t end when the walking stops. After the walk, health screening is offered to the community, reaching over 600 people. It’s a simple but powerful way to turn awareness into action.
This time, I also had the pleasure of having Dr. Gevorg Tamamyan with us. He is in Rwanda to see firsthand the country’s journey toward eliminating cervical cancer. Today gave him a chance to experience something broader: how Rwanda brings communities together around cancer awareness.
A beautiful morning of walking, connecting, and taking action together.”
