Ben Park, Director at Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center, shared on LinkedIn:
“Timely access to expert cancer care can make a meaningful difference for patients and their families. Vanderbilt-Ingram Cancer Center offers an expedited pathway for patients with newly diagnosed liver or pancreatic cancer to receive a surgical oncology evaluation within two business days of referral.
Special thanks to Kamran Idrees, Michael T LeCompte, and Sekhar Padmanabhan, for their leadership in helping launch this important initiative, as well as our dedicated Patient Care Coordinators, whose efforts make this streamlined process possible every day.
By quickly connecting patients with surgeons who specialize in liver and pancreatic cancers, we can help reduce delays in care and ensure patients receive expert guidance as soon as possible. Following the initial evaluation, patients have access to a multidisciplinary team that collaborates to develop a personalized treatment plan tailored to their unique needs.
Our goal is simple: provide seamless, coordinated care and help patients move forward with confidence during a critical time in their cancer journey.
To refer a patient, call 615-875-2412.”
