“EU legislators have finally struck a deal on the new EU Pharma Package, opening doors towards more equitable access to cancer medicines across Europe.
This morning, the European Commission, Parliament and governments reached the long-awaited agreement, the first major update of EU pharmaceutical rules in over 20 years.
We broadly welcome the deal, which takes important steps to tackle persistent gaps in ensuring cancer patients have access to safe, effective, and affordable medicines – no matter where they live. However, the final agreement falls short of fully reducing the costs of drugs.
