Anju Aledia Marks International Childhood Cancer Day with a Historic Visit

Anju Aledia, Teacher and North India Regional Education Coordinator at CanKids KidsCan, shared a post on LinkedIn:

International Childhood Cancer Day. A Transformative Visit to the Parliament of India.

Today marked a truly special and unforgettable moment for our childhood cancer patients and their caregivers from CanKids KidsCan – Home Away From Home, Kotla, Delhi, as they had the honor of visiting the Parliament of India.

For many of our children and families, Parliament was something they had only ever seen on television. Experiencing this historic institution in person proved to be deeply inspiring and life-changing.

The visit filled them with joy, hope, learning, and a profound sense of inclusion in the democratic life of our nation-especially meaningful during such a challenging phase of their journey.

We extend our heartfelt thanks and sincere appreciation to the Hon’ble Speaker Shri Om Birla Ji, Parliament of India, Mr. Rajkumar Patton, Assistant Research Officer, Ms. Rekha from PRIDE and all the officers and staff of the Lok Sabha Secretariat for their kind permission, seamless coordination, warmth, and gracious hospitality.

The sensitivity, care and respect shown towards our children and caregivers made this visit a truly positive and empowering experience.

Such compassionate gestures leave a lasting impact and remind our children and families that the nation stands firmly with them in their courageous fight against cancer.

With deep gratitude.

Team CanKids KidsCan.”
