Imagine you are working and living your life. You get diagnosed with an advanced cancer and need to start chemotherapy immediately. You’re still processing all the whys and how’s and what just happened to you.
Ninety-nine percent of your oncologist’s words went in one ear and out the other (yes, we know this happens!).
But…you need to rush to an appointment for a porta Cath (what’s that?), blood work on a certain day (can’t remember whether or not you mind needle sticks), an appointment to talk to a team member about chemotherapy side effects, and appointments for the big show (chemo) in a few days.
What about your work?
Oh, and your sibling(s), friends and family now need to decide who will take you to which appointments. This can affect their personal schedules.
Who’s going to prepare food when you’re sick and tired from chemo?
What about the laundry?”
